Ibb University Concludes First Scientific Conference on Computing and Applied Sciences

Amran: The activities of the first scientific conference on research and innovation in computing and applied sciences, held under the slogan "Towards a research platform for knowledge exchange and building the digital future," concluded today at Ibb University. Over two days, the conference sessions witnessed participation from academics, researchers, and students of the Faculty of Computing and Applied Sciences, presenting various research papers and innovative projects in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and software development.

According to Yemen News Agency, the conference president and Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Applied Sciences, Dr. Munir Al Surouri, emphasized the importance of transforming the research outputs and scientific projects presented into practical applications that benefit society and enhance digital development. He highlighted the participation of computing and information technology students, urging relevant authorities and the private sector to adopt these innovations and turn them into productive and developmental projects.

Dr. Al Surouri appreciated the support from the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research and the university, praising the faculty's staff and students for the successful execution of the conference. He noted the significance of restructuring academic programs, introducing new specializations in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and developing computer and information technology programs in accordance with quality and academic accreditation standards.

The conference concluded with a set of recommendations, emphasizing the importance of supporting scientific conferences and transforming research outputs into effective platforms for scientific research and digital innovation. It called for the employment of artificial intelligence technologies and digital transformation to support development and enhance the relationship between the university and the labor market by fostering environments that incubate creativity and entrepreneurship.

The recommendations also stressed expanding research related to cybersecurity and modern digital technologies, addressing national challenges through collaborative research, and transforming scientific outputs into sustainable projects. Distinctive researchers and winning research papers were honored, alongside students excelling in graduation projects within computer and information technology programs.

On the sidelines, the President of Ibb University, Dr. Nasr Al Hajili, remarked to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the conference marks a significant step in advancing scientific research and fostering an academic environment that supports creativity and innovation. He highlighted the university's commitment to aligning research activities with development needs and labor market requirements. Dr. Al Hajili emphasized the need for expanded partnerships between the university, government, and private sectors to support innovations and transform them into practical initiatives.
