Sana'a: The industrial sector organized on Saturday a sit-in in front of the Parliament calling for stronger support and protection of national industries against unfair competition. A statement issued at the sit-in urged activation of localization policies, tighter regulation of imports of similar goods, and incentives to boost the efficiency and quality of local products.
According to Yemen News Agency, the participants emphasized that exceptional economic challenges facing the country require unified efforts to safeguard national industries and strengthen self-sufficiency. They handed Parliament a letter demanding directives to the government to continue supporting industrial localization as the only viable path toward Yemen's economic revival.
