Siena:The Human Rights and Freedoms Organization, known as Insan, has expressed strong condemnation of the UN envoy to Yemen for perceived double standards. Insan's statement criticized the envoy for not issuing public condemnations of the numerous crimes allegedly committed by Saudi Arabia, which have resulted in the deaths of thousands of Yemenis, including many women and children.
According to Yemen News Agency, The organization accused the UN envoy of failing to condemn Saudi actions that have led to significant civilian casualties and infrastructure damage in Yemen. At the same time, Insan noted that the envoy has issued statements in support of Saudi Arabia following Yemen's retaliatory operations.
Insan's statement raised concerns about the envoy's impartiality and questioned the UN's role in mediating the conflict. The organization accused the UN of selectively condemning Yemen's defensive actions while ignoring alleged violations by Saudi Arabia. Insan urged the envoy to address these reported attacks and uphold international law in a consistent manner.
Furthermore, Insan warned that the perceived bias could compromise trust in international mediation efforts and hinder the possibility of achieving a fair resolution to the conflict.
