Sana'a: Khaled Al-Aqeedah, the Director of Arhab District in Sana'a Governorate, inspected the progress level of several community initiative projects in the Bani Ali sub-district, which are community-funded and supported by the Governorate's Community Initiatives Administration and the Central Interventions Unit.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Aqeedah, accompanied by the Mobilization Officer of the sub-district Mu'in Al-Tariqah, Community Initiatives Managers Ali Al-Fiqih and Acting Works Officer Mu'in Al-Arusi, and the Development Association Chairman of the sub-district Ali Abu Maryam, reviewed the progress of the road surveying, expansion, and paving project linking the villages of the sub-district. The 70-kilometer road, five meters wide, serves over 18,000 people and costs 17 million in self-financed initiatives, with a completion rate of 50%.
They also reviewed the initiative to renovate eight classrooms at the Al-Rakiyah Al-Sufla School, implemented through community efforts and support from the Governorate's Initiatives Administration at a cost of 14.5 million riyals. This includes a 5-million-riyal community contribution and a 9.5-million-riyal contribution from the Governorate's Initiatives Administration.
Furthermore, they observed work on the initiative to pave the Beit Al-Ghabari road, which is 300 square meters long and four meters wide, serving 800 people. It is being implemented through community efforts and support from the Central Interventions Unit (270 cement bags and 590 liters of diesel), along with an 8-million-riyal community contribution for stones and labor, under the supervision of the Governorate's Community Initiatives Administration, with a 30% completion rate.
They were briefed on the project to build the Al-Hadi Mosque in Al-Rakiyah Al-Sufla, which is 18 meters long and 15 meters wide with restrooms, costing 30 million riyals as a community initiative, with a 30% completion rate.
Al-Aqeedah praised the citizens' efforts and their interaction in implementing community initiatives, commending the role of the sub-district's Development Association in executing the projects, which played a key role in the success of the initiatives and motivated the community to contribute effort, money, materials, and voluntary work.
He noted that these initiatives come in response to the directives of the Revolution Leader and the follow-up of the Governorate's leadership in urging the community to unite and cooperate, and to adopt initiatives that contribute to meeting citizens' aspirations and service needs, thereby alleviating their suffering.
Separately, the District Director, the Mobilization Officer, and the Development Association Chairman of the sub-district inspected the types of agricultural crops-potatoes, tomatoes, coffee, wheat, and legumes-in the Wadi Shawabih Sanawan area.
Al-Aqeedah, the District Director, emphasized the commitment to expanding the agricultural sector's activity in the district, particularly regarding the cultivation of grains and other crops that contribute to advancing the agricultural sector.
He pointed to the necessity of supporting farmers' efforts in land reclamation and expanding agricultural areas for cultivating grains and various types of crops, and contributing to their marketing. He highlighted the need to support and encourage farmers to engage in contract farming for grain crops, contributing to reducing the import bill and achieving self-sufficiency.
