Sanaa: The Head of the Prisons Committee, Fahd Ghathaya, and the Head of the Rehabilitation and Correction Authority, Major General Ismail Al-Mu'ayyad, inspected today the conditions of detainees at the Central Correctional Facility in the Capital Secretariat, Sana'a. They reviewed the level of housing, rehabilitation, and healthcare services provided to prisoners, as well as the release procedures carried out for a number of insolvent prisoners and detainees who were included in the clemency release initiative on the occasion of the anniversary of the noble Prophet's birth (Mawlid al-Nabawi), in implementation of the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ghathaya and Al-Mu'ayyad emphasized the importance of taking into account the humanitarian conditions of the detainees, following up on the expeditious adjudication of cases of prisoners pending trial in cooperation with the judiciary, and working to resolve the cases of insolvent prisoners within legal and humanitarian frameworks. They praised the level of organization and improvement in rehabilitation and health services within the correctional facility.
For its part, the correctional facility administration expressed its appreciation for the visit and the ongoing follow-up, affirming its commitment to providing the best legally prescribed services and care to all prisoners.
