Inspection of Final Works at ‘Karif’ Warzan Nursery Project in Khadir District

Taiz: The Director of the Project and Agricultural and Fisheries Initiatives Financing Unit in Taiz Governorate, Engineer Hassan Al-Rashidi, reviewed on Saturday the progress of the final works at the 'Karif' Warzan Nursery project for flash and rainwater harvesting in Khadir District.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Rashidi received a detailed briefing from the project engineer, Aref Al-Shahtar, on the current implementation stages aimed at completing the project, which has a storage capacity of 3,000 cubic meters. The project is funded by the governorate unit and implemented by the Khadir Agricultural Cooperative Association.

Engineer Al-Rashidi emphasized that the 'Karif' Warzan Nursery project aims to enhance and preserve water resources, contributing to increasing the nursery's agricultural productivity, especially in light of declining groundwater levels. He highlighted the importance of utilizing stored rain and flashwater in the Karif to meet the nursery's water needs throughout the year.

Al-Rashidi pointed to the critical role of rainwater and floodwater harvesting projects in sustaining agricultural activities, strengthening resilience against climate change, and addressing water scarcity challenges.
