Sana'a: The General Authority for Insurance and Pensions began on Thursday disbursing the second half of the May 2021 pension for civilian retirees.

According to Yemen News Agency, Ibrahim Al-Haifi, the Authority's Chairman, stated that the disbursement is being carried out under the temporary exceptional mechanism designed to support the state employee payroll, as stipulated by Law No. (2) of 1446 AH. This mechanism ensures the systematic payment of retirement pensions, with 12 pension disbursement cycles implemented annually.

Al-Haifi described this initiative as the outcome of intensive efforts and ongoing coordination with the Ministers of Finance, Civil Service, and Administrative Development. The aim is to maintain the continuous and timely payment of pensions, aligning with the Government of Change and Construction's agenda, which prioritizes retirees in recognition of their long service to the nation.

The Chairman urged retirees and authorized beneficiaries to visit post offices with the necessary documentation to facilitate the receipt of their pensions. He also expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all relevant authorities, highlighting the leadership of the Central Bank of Yemen, along with the staff of the Authority and the Ministries of Civil Service and Finance, the Central Bank, and the Postal Savings Authority, for their roles in the successful execution of the disbursement process.
