Sana'a: The General Authority for Insurance and Pensions has begun disbursing the first half of the July 2021 pension to civil retirees.

According to Yemen News Agency, Chairman of the Authority, Ibrahim Al-Haifi, stated that the disbursement is being implemented under the temporary exceptional mechanism to support the state employees' payroll bill, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (2) of 1446 AH. This law ensures the regular payment of pensions through 12 disbursement cycles annually.

He highlighted that this step is the outcome of intensive efforts and continuous coordination with the Ministers of Finance, Civil Service, and Administrative Development. These efforts aim to guarantee the regular continuation of pension payments within the Government of Change and Construction's program, which prioritizes retirees in acknowledgment of their contributions and long service to the nation.

The Chairman urged retirees and beneficiaries' representatives to visit post offices with the necessary documents to facilitate the receipt of their pensions. He also acknowledged the cooperation of relevant authorities, especially the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Hashem Ismail, along with the staff of the Authority, the Ministries of Civil Service and Finance, the Central Bank, and the Postal Savings Authority, for their role in ensuring the success of the disbursement process.
