Interior Ministry Reviews Plans to Modernize Security Operations

Sana'a: A meeting chaired by Deputy Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Abdulmajid al-Murtada discussed ways to modernize security operations and enhance performance efficiency across various security units. The meeting brought together Undersecretary of the Ministry for Security and Police Affairs Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ja'afar, Capital Sana'a Security Director Maj. Gen. Muammar Harash, Sana'a governorate Security Director Brig. Gen. Mujahid Ayedh, and several senior officials from the ministry.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the meeting, al-Murtada stressed the importance of raising security readiness and vigilance, strengthening field operations, and directing efforts toward combating crime through organized and effective security measures. He highlighted that teamwork remains essential to confronting challenges and thwarting criminal plots targeting security and stability, referring to what he described as hostile attempts to destabilize the internal situation.

The deputy minister also called for improving the performance of police stations through regular evaluations, addressing shortcomings promptly, and ensuring adherence to legal procedures at all stages of security work. He emphasized the importance of respectful treatment of citizens in line with Islamic values, safeguarding public dignity, and protecting lives and property in order to reinforce public confidence in law enforcement institutions.

For his part, Undersecretary Ja'afar noted ongoing efforts to improve police station performance, mentioning that several shortcomings had already been addressed through enhanced oversight mechanisms aimed at reducing mistakes and preventing violations. Participants in the meeting said the Interior Ministry's 1447 AH security plan achieved notable success due to coordination among various security units and the rapid exchange of security information, contributing to reducing crime and strengthening stability.

The meeting also approved the priorities of the ministry's security plan for the year 1448 AH, aimed at further improving security performance and reinforcing stability.
