Sana'a:The Intesaf Organization for Women and Children's Rights has condemned attacks by Saudi forces on a house in the Asr area of the Yemeni capital and on workers' housing at a cement factory in the Hamdan District of Sana'a Governorate. These attacks resulted in several deaths and injuries, including women and children.
According to Yemen News Agency, the organization described the incidents as serious violations of the rights to life and security. The attacks highlight the dangers faced by civilians in their homes, which should be safe havens for them and their families.
The statement from the Intesaf Organization warned that these attacks on civilian facilities endanger workers and surrounding areas. It raised concerns about compliance with international rules that protect civilians and civilian objects. The organization stressed the legal obligation to protect civilian lives and property under international humanitarian law, particularly emphasizing the principles of distinction and proportionality.
The organization urged the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities. It called for serious action to protect civilians in Yemen, halt attacks that threaten their lives, and ensure respect for international humanitarian law.
Furthermore, the Intesaf Organization emphasized that civilian lives should not be reduced to mere statistics in news reports. It highlighted that each person killed leaves a family deprived of support, and each injured individual endures pain and suffering that demand justice. The organization stressed that protecting human life and security must remain at the forefront of all human rights and humanitarian efforts.
