Marib: The Intisaf Organization for Women and Children's Rights issued a human rights report today entitled 'When the Sun Sets,' documenting the abduction and captivity of citizen Shams Abdul Malik Abdul Qader al-Kabsi by mercenaries of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression in Marib Governorate in March 2015.
According to Yemen News Agency, the report details the abduction, captivity, and subsequent release, based on interviews conducted by the organization with the captive. It clarifies the legal framework of the crime according to international laws, treaties, and relevant international agreements, which consider what happened to be a war crime against women.
The Intisaf Organization affirmed that abduction and deliberate detention constitute a grave violation of international humanitarian law, noting that this report represents further evidence documenting the systematic targeting of civilians, especially women and children, in areas controlled by mercenaries.
It called on the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate action to ensure accountability and justice for the victims.
