Dhamar: A cultural seminar was held in Dhamar Governorate today on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon him), under the slogan "By the Lord of the Kaaba, you have succeeded."
According to Yemen News Agency, the seminar took place at the Al-Madrasa Al-Shamsiyya Mosque and was attended by notable figures including the Governor of Dhamar, Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, the President of Dhamar University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, and the Governorate Mobilization Official, Ahmed Al-Dourani. Faisal Al-Hatfi, the Director of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance office in the governorate, addressed the gathering. In his speech titled "The Martyrdom of Imam Ali (may God be pleased with him) and Its Significance in the Path of the Islamic Nation," he discussed the impact of Imam Ali's martyrdom in the niche of his prayer and his esteemed status with the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family).
Al-Hatfi emphasized that the assassination of Imam Ali, executed by a sword claimed to be of Islamic origin, symbolized an attack on the Quran and truth. He highlighted this event as the tragic culmination of deviation and a shift from the righteous path, alongside the rise of power struggles and disagreements among Muslims.
He further elaborated on the conspiratorial trajectory that emerged following the death of the noble Messenger (peace be upon him and his family), identifying it as a precursor to the challenges faced by the nation today. Al-Hatfi stressed the importance of commemorating this anniversary to learn from Imam Ali's life, understand the factors leading to his martyrdom, and extract lessons to prevent greater deviation. He also urged participation in Quds Day marches next Friday.
