Sana'a: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat, in partnership with Al-Alamiya Advertising, Marketing and the Central Bank of Yemen, organized an introductory seminar on the 2025 Commercial and Industrial Excellence Award for the Financial Services Sector. During the seminar, Finance Minister Abdul Jabbar Ahmed highlighted the importance of this initiative across its various branches and its role in showcasing the vibrant activity of the Yemeni private sector in multiple fields.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Finance Minister praised the advanced steps taken by the Capital Secretariat's Chamber of Commerce and its preparations to launch the 2025 Commercial and Industrial Excellence Award. Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Board, Ali Al-Hadi, stated that the award represents a new approach that elevates economic work standards and promotes a culture of quality, transparency, and fair competition. He described the award as a motivational message for every pioneering establishment that rises to challenges while maintaining high standards of quality and creativity.
The seminar was attended by key figures including the Chamber's Vice President in the Capital, Mohammed Salah, and the Executive Director, Adel Al-Kholani. A pivotal presentation was made by Mohammed Al-Faiq, Director of Insurance Companies Supervision at the Central Bank, covering the mechanisms and criteria proposed by the bank and the award categories.
Additionally, Ahmed Al-Maqouli, Executive Director of Al-Alamiya Advertising and Marketing, outlined the six competition categories for 2025, which include Best Bank, Best Financial Portfolio, Best Insurance Company, Best Money Transfer Network, Best Exchange Company, Small Project, and Micro Project.
The seminar was further enriched by the presence of Akram Al-Jarmoozi, Assistant Chairman of the Banks Association; Nabil Al-Hazzaa, Chairman of the Money Changers Association; Salah Al-Absi, Secretary-General of the Yemeni Insurance Union; and representatives from several banks, insurance and exchange companies, and microfinance institutions. Discussions focused on the approved evaluation criteria and mechanisms, as well as public participation in voting via an online platform.
The 2025 Commercial and Industrial Excellence Award for the Financial Services Sector is scheduled to officially launch on 11 January 2026.
