Muscat: The Prophet's Birthday football tournament and cultural competitions commenced in Jabal Al-Mahwit district for the 1448 AH year, focusing on the district's accredited sports and cultural teams.
According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament is organized by the district branch of the Youth and Sports Office. It operates under the supervision of the local authority and General Mobilization, forming part of a broader initiative of youth, sports, and cultural activities celebrating the Prophet's Birthday.
During the launch event, District General Mobilization official Mohammed Al-Marwi, Education Sector official Ahmed Al-Habashi, and Director of the Youth and Sports Office branch Mohammed Habish emphasized the significance of such events. They highlighted the role these activities play in utilizing young people's energies, skill development, and fostering a competitive environment that enhances communication and brotherhood among district residents.
The officials commended the organizing bodies for their efforts and the preparations made for the tournament and cultural competitions. They described these initiatives as opportunities to present young people's sports and cultural talents and abilities while encouraging values of competition, creativity, and teamwork.
