Japan: Japan’s global exports rose 3.7% in October compared with the same month last year, while imports increased 0.6%, according to government data released Friday.
According to Yemen News Agency, figures from Japan’s Ministry of Finance, cited by the German News Agency (DPA), show that exports to the United States fell 3.1%, marking the seventh consecutive monthly decline, amid ongoing concerns about the potential negative impact of U.S. tariffs.
Meanwhile, imports from the United States surged 20.9%, driven mainly by higher purchases of food products, such as grains, as well as petroleum.
Japan’s exports of computer parts, machinery, buses, and trucks to the U.S. all recorded declines.
U.S. President Donald Trump previously announced a new trade framework with Japan last July, imposing a 15% tax on imported goods.
