Sana'a: The Yemeni Journalists Union condemned the war crime committed by the Israeli aggression by directly targeting the headquarters of the September 26 newspaper and the Yemen newspaper in the capital, Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Union indicated that the crime resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of journalists and media professionals, as well as dozens of residents of the neighboring neighborhood. This is a crime that shames humanity and adds to the record of crimes committed by the Israeli enemy against journalists and civilians. The statement expressed full solidarity with the families of the martyrs and wounded, and with the Yemeni press and media community, which is facing systematic targeting by the Israeli aggression.
The Union reiterated its firm position of support and backing for the Palestinian people in Gaza, who are being subjected to a war of genocide at the hands of the Zionist killing machine. It called on the international community and its UN and human rights organizations to take urgent action to condemn this crime, hold its perpetrators accountable, and put an end to the policy of impunity practiced by the Israeli occupation.
The Union called on all Arab and international press and media unions and federations, particularly the Arab Journalists Union and the International Federation of Journalists, to raise their voices and express their solidarity with Yemeni and Palestinian journalists who are being systematically targeted by the Israeli enemy.
The Union emphasized that targeting free speech and the national press will only increase the determination of media professionals to expose the crimes of the Israeli aggression and convey the truth, in defense of our people's right to freedom, dignity, and sovereignty.
