Al-maraw'ah: A significant step forward in agricultural development was marked in the Al-Maraw'ah district of Hodeida governorate, as the Al-Iktifa Agricultural Cooperative Society inaugurated the "Knights of Development" training course in the Al-Qatamilah subdistrict. This initiative coincides with ongoing efforts to reclaim 4,200 agricultural ma'ads in preparation for the 1448 AH autumn agricultural season.
According to Yemen News Agency, the training and reclamation activities are executed through a collaborative effort between the Al-Iktifa Agricultural Cooperative Society and the Tihama Development Authority. The program aims to bolster farmers' capabilities, optimize agricultural land use, and elevate production levels.
The land reclamation project has thus far completed 214 ma'ads, with continued efforts to reach the full target before the autumn season commences. Muhammad Atiyah, head of the society, emphasized that the simultaneous launch of the "Knights of Development" training aligns with the society's mission to enhance local community capacity and foster sustainable self-sufficiency in the agricultural sector.
Atiyah highlighted the significance of training the "Knights of Development" to equip them with essential skills and knowledge for community service and effective resource utilization. He also underscored the ongoing cooperation with the Tihama Development Authority to accomplish the land reclamation goals.
The completion of reclamation activities before the autumn season is expected to expand agricultural land, increase productivity, and improve food security. This initiative aims to benefit farmers and residents by optimizing the use of available agricultural resources.
These efforts are part of a broader strategy to encourage agricultural expansion, enhance worker efficiency, and support local production, thereby contributing to the agricultural development path in the Al-Maraw'ah district.
