Sana'a: Today, the activities of the 12th edition of the 'Al Raswl al-A'?am Festival,' organized by the Imam al-Hadi Foundation, kicked off at Sana'a University.

According to Yemen News Agency, the festival, which will run for ten days, features competitions among 42 participants in Qur'an recitation, Arabic poetry, adult chanting (inshad), and children's chanting. The program also includes artistic and theatrical performances, accompanied by an exhibition of productive families and an exhibition of fine arts.

During the opening ceremony, attended by Minister of Finance Abdul-Jabbar Ahmad, Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali al-Yafi'i, and Head of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing Ali al-'Imad, Deputy Minister of Culture and President of the Imam al-Hadi Foundation, Abdullah al-Washli, stated that the festival reaffirms the bond with the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and serves as a triumph for his values, morals, and blessed biography.

He stressed that the Islamic nation is in dire need of reviving the path of the Messenger of God, re-examining his leadership qualities, following his footsteps in jihad, confronting tyranny, and supporting the oppressed. Al-Washli referred to the genocide and starvation crimes being committed against the people of Gaza amid disgraceful Arab and Islamic silence, stressing that this calls us to return to the life of the Messenger of God in order to correct the course of the Islamic nation by upholding the Palestinian cause.

He added that the festival will shed light on key stations from the life of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), and that all its activities and evenings embody the Muhammadan path and revive in hearts the noble Islamic teachings.

Following that, an artistic tableau entitled 'The Greatest Leader' was presented, depicting scenes of Arab life in the pre-Islamic era, the coming of the noble birth of the Prophet, the debates among the Jews at the time of his birth, his call to his people to embrace Islam, his struggle against polytheism, his jihad to elevate the word of God, his support for the oppressed, and his thwarting of the plots of hypocrites, polytheists, and Jews.
