Launch of Disbursement of Zakat al-Fitr and Cash Assistance for 21,000 Families in Amran

Amran: The branch of the General Zakat Authority in Amran Governorate today launched the project for disbursing Zakat al-Fitr for the year 1447 AH, along with cash assistance and support for families unable to work. The project targets 21,519 beneficiary families with an amount of 526,430,000 riyals, through post offices spread across all districts of the governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Governorate's General Mobilization Official, Sajjad Hamza, the Deputy Governor, Hassan Al-Ashqas, along with the Director of the Zakat Authority Branch, Mohammed Al-Shahrani, the Director of Post, Abdullah Al-Dhyani, and the Deputy Director of the Zakat Office, Hussein Al-Had, inspected the disbursement process at the post offices. It was affirmed that the aid reaches the beneficiaries hand-in-hand according to the Authority's lists.

The Mobilization Official and the Deputy Governor praised the efforts of the Zakat Authority and the development of its performance in providing assistance to the poor and needy. They affirmed that these efforts embody the values of justice and solidarity that Islam called for, and reflect the faith identity derived from the Holy Quran. They noted the role of the General Zakat Authority in serving society by delivering legitimate rights to their beneficiaries and enhancing the resilience of poor families in the face of current challenges.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Zakat Office explained that the project comes within a series of programs implemented by the branch throughout the year. This initiative is part of the framework of the eight legitimate channels of zakat, aimed at alleviating the suffering of the poor under the difficult circumstances the country is going through. Al-Shahrani pointed out that the disbursement process is carried out in coordination with the Post Authority to ensure that entitlements are delivered directly to beneficiaries according to their personal identification cards and the survey lists approved by the districts.

For his part, the Director of the Post Authority branch in the governorate, Abdullah Al-Dhyani, explained that all post offices continue the process of disbursing zakat aid since the launch. This process will continue through the days of the blessed Eid al-Fitr holiday, ensuring that support reaches all targeted families on time.
