Al bayda: A free medical eye camp for cataract removal with lens implantation was launched at the Al Thawra General Hospital Authority in Al Bayda governorate, supported and funded by the Direct Aid Society and implemented by the Al Basar International Charitable Foundation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the camp, which lasts for five days in coordination with the Camp Administration Department at the Ministry of Health and Environment and its office in the governorate, aims to provide free examinations and perform eye surgeries for cataract removal and lens implantation.
The deputy governors Saleh Al Mansouri and Ali Hadhban from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, along with the Director of the Health Office, Dr. Mujahid Al Khatri, listened to an explanation from the head of the Al Thawra General Hospital Authority in the governorate, Dr. Nasser Al Ajili, about the procedures for receiving cases at the camp. During the first two days, examinations and screenings will be conducted, cases requiring surgical intervention will be identified, and they will undergo pre-operative tests.
The deputy governor Al Mansouri stressed the importance of the free medical camp, which is witnessing a large turnout, as it alleviates the suffering of citizens, especially given the difficult circumstances resulting from the repercussions of the aggression and blockade.
He praised the efforts of the supporting parties for such camps that provide essential services to various segments of society, calling on organizations working in the health sector and businessmen to contribute to establishing such medical camps that help provide free medical services to needy cases.
