Al-hodeida: The "Greatest Messenger" cross-country marathon was launched today in Al-Hodeida Governorate, with the participation of 200 competitors, celebrating the anniversary of the noble Prophet's birth (Mawlid al-Nabawi) for the year 1448 AH, organized by the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the marathon competitions started from in front of the Martyr Leader Exhibition, reaching Al-Sammad Martyrs' Square, designated for the central event in Al-Hodeida city, with wide participation from youth and athletes.
The Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Imad Al-Bar'ei, explained that organizing the marathon comes within the program of sports and youth activities accompanying the Mawlid al-Nabawi commemoration events, enhancing the presence of sports in public events and occasions.
He pointed out that the participation of 200 competitors reflects the interest of youth and athletes in sports competitions and their engagement with the activities implemented by the office, noting the importance of continuing to hold such events that combine sports activity with community presence.
The competitors raced along the marathon route amid crowd attendance and interaction from citizens, in a race that brought together various age groups interested in cross-country running, adding a sporting atmosphere to the occasion's events.
The marathon comes within the program of sports and youth activities organized by the Youth and Sports Office in Al-Hodeida Governorate, coinciding with the events commemorating the Mawlid al-Nabawi for the year 1448 AH.
