Launch of “Greatest Messenger League” Kicks Off Across Taiz Districts

Haifan: The "Greatest Messenger League" football tournament was launched today in the Haifan district of Taiz governorate, organized by the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate as part of the sports activities and events marking the Prophet's birthday anniversary for the year 1448 AH.

According to Yemen News Agency, the opening match saw the victory of the "Al-Quds" team over the "Al-Shahid Al-Ghumari" team with a score of 8-6. The tournament launch was attended by the district's General Director Omar Awhaj, a number of directors of executive office branches, and social figures.

In Jabal Habashi district, the tournament's competitions also kicked off with a strong football match between "Imam Al-Hassan" and "Imam Al-Hussein" teams, which was decided by the former with a score of 3-1. Meanwhile, in Maqbanah district, the organizing regulations awarded three points to the "Shamir" team for today's match following the withdrawal of their opponents, the "Al-Jamahir" team.

Excitement reached its peak in Khadir district, where the "Kata'ib Al-Qassam" team secured the second qualification spot for the tournament final after a deserving 3-1 victory over the "October 7" team. In Shara'b Al-Rawnah district, the match between "Wadi Al-Haddad" and "Al-Hilal" witnessed a goal-filled and highly competitive encounter, with fluctuating play before "Wadi Al-Haddad" snatched a valuable 7-5 win.

In Al-Ta'iziyah district, the "Al-Shu'lah" team achieved an important victory over "Shabab Al-Jund" with a score of 3-1 within the same qualifiers. During the tournament competitions, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Dr. Fakhr Al-Din Al-Bashiri, considered the launch and continuation of the tournament competitions a pivotal step to revive sports activity and refine the talents of young people in the governorate. He affirmed the office's and the governorate's local authority leadership's ongoing commitment to providing all forms of support and removing obstacles to ensure the success and sustainability of the activities.
