Sana'a: The first stage of the Second Annual Model School Radio Competition was launched on Monday in the Capital Secretariat, with the participation of public and private schools across its districts, under the theme 'The Palestinian Cause - Al-Aqsa Flood.' The competition is organized by the General Department of School Activities at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the education sector and schools in the Secretariat, and will continue for three weeks.
According to Yemen News Agency, each school participates with its best school radio program focused on the Palestinian cause. The competition begins at the district level, with the first and second place winners nominated for recognition in this initial stage. The competition aims to enhance students' awareness of the nation's key issues-foremost among them the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds Al-Sharif-instilling concepts of struggle and defense of holy sites, and building a generation conscious of its nation's causes and capable of confronting challenges.
Evaluation criteria include adherence to the allotted time, participation of no fewer than 15 students, and diversity of radio segments such as Qur'anic recitation, Hadith, wise sayings, highlights from the leaders of guidance, poetry, chants, theater, radio interviews, and cultural knowledge. The competition also requires linguistic accuracy and eloquence, connecting segments to current realities and events, and offering reflections supported by Qur'anic verses, under the slogan: 'An eye on events. and an eye on the Qur'an.'
