Sana’a: The Local Authority and Mobilization Office in Sana’a launched the activities marking the 1447 AH Annual Martyrs’ Commemoration under the slogan ‘Men who fulfilled what they pledged to Allah.’ At the opening ceremony, which was attended by Governor Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, several members of the Shura Council, Provincial Local Council Secretary-General Abdulqader Al-Jilani, members of the administrative body, and the provincial local council, Deputy Governor for Education and Youth Talib Dahhan emphasized the importance of commemorating the martyrs to honor their sacrifices and the pride they brought to Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor Dahhan highlighted that observing the martyrs’ anniversary is a tribute to those whose blood brought Yemen glory and enabled it to confront powerful adversaries. He urged people to emulate the martyrs’ devotion to God and to remain vigilant against threats posed by enemies and their actions.
Hussein Hazeb, a member of the General Committee of the General People’s Congress, reiterated the need to support the national leadership in confronting global arrogance. He reviewed Yemen’s supportive stance towards the oppressed in Gaza and emphasized following the martyrs’ path to preserve the gains achieved by their sacrifices. He called on Yemenis abroad to contribute to national reconstruction and counteract enemy plans.
Fayez Al-Hanmi, a mobilization official, noted the martyrs’ role in achieving national dignity and urged embracing the culture of jihad. He called for readiness to face any escalation from adversaries and for support of the ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ training courses and efforts against foreign influence and oppression.
Abdulkarim Atef from the Association of Yemeni Scholars emphasized the need to honor martyrs by supporting their families and caring for their welfare. He stressed that commemorating Martyrs’ Day revives the nation’s spirit and draws lessons from the martyrs’ sacrifices to strengthen awareness against conspiracies targeting the homeland.
