Sana'a: Acting Governor of Dhale', Abdulatif al-Shaghdari, on Sunday launched a market and price inspection campaign in Damt district as part of preparations for the holy month of Ramadan. The campaign, organized by the Governorate's Office of Economy, Industry, and Investment, aims to tighten oversight of markets, regulate prices and weights, and prevent manipulation or hoarding of essential commodities.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Shaghdari emphasized the importance of maintaining supply discipline in the lead-up to Ramadan and urged traders to cooperate fully with inspection teams and comply with the officially approved pricing structures. The initiative is seen as crucial to ensuring fair market practices and availability of goods during the holy month.
Director of the Economy and Industry Office, Amin Jamil, highlighted that the campaign focuses on identifying price violations and commercial fraud. Offenders will be referred to relevant authorities for appropriate action. Jamil also noted that the campaign includes awareness programs aimed at educating traders and consumers about compliance, social responsibility, and consumer awareness, with the goal of promoting transparency and fairness in the marketplace.
