Sana'a: Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development Nasser Al-Mahdhar inaugurated on Sunday the open day for direct engagement with citizens at the ministry's headquarters. During the event, the Deputy Minister reviewed a number of citizens' complaints and transactions, directing relevant officials and specialists at the ministry to promptly address and complete them through clear and effective procedures.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Mahdhar explained that launching the open day for meeting and communicating with citizens is a practical embodiment of the directives of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Baderaldeen Al-Houthi, to strengthen the relationship between officials and society, emphasize closeness to citizens, understand their needs and problems, and work to meet and resolve them.
Al-Mahdhar noted that this step comes in implementation of the Cabinet's decision regarding the unified mechanism for carrying out, following up, and evaluating the open day for communication between officials and citizens. This effort aims at building strong ties, enhancing proximity, fostering positive relations with the government, strengthening communication, meetings, and addressing citizens' issues while ensuring fairness.
He pointed out that the ministry's responsibilities in monitoring, supervising, and evaluating the performance of local authorities in governorates and districts require direct awareness of the difficulties and problems facing citizens, as well as the level of services provided to them. This awareness is crucial for taking effective decisions to facilitate service delivery and complete transactions efficiently.
He added that since the formation of the Government of Change and Construction, the ministry has been receiving citizens daily throughout the week. The Deputy Minister urged local authorities in governorates and districts to uphold their responsibility to serve citizens, facilitate their transactions, and address them swiftly in line with the Revolution Leader's directives and the guidance of the Supreme Political Council and the government.
