Sana'a: Al Tahrir district in the Capital Secretariat witnessed today a massive protest rally in support and anger for the Holy Quran and Islamic sanctities, and in support of Gaza and the oppressed Palestinian people. The participants in the rally raised copies of the Holy Quran, affirming their pride and adherence to the Holy Quran as the book of God and the holiest of sanctities on earth, expressing their intense anger and rejection of the repeated insults to the Holy Quran and the sanctities of Islam and Muslims.
According to Yemen News Agency, the rally was attended by prominent figures including the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, a member of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Authority, Harith Al Omari, the First Deputy of the Capital Secretariat, Khaled Al Madani, the Deputy Ministers of Culture, Abdulmalek Al Qata' and Abdul Latif Al Omari, and the Director of Al Tahrir district, Naji Al Shai'ani. The attendees chanted slogans denouncing the act of burning a copy of the Holy Quran in Michigan, USA, by Jake Lang. They expressed their rejection of all attempts to undermine the nation's constants, identity, and sanctities, and their strong condemnation of these acts which are seen as a deliberate provocation to the feelings of nearly two billion Muslims worldwide.
The participants renewed their absolute mandate to the revolutionary leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al Din Al Houthi, and affirmed their readiness for any upcoming developments. Their stance supports the brothers in Gaza, aiming to liberate the land of Palestine, and upholding the causes and sanctities of the nation. During the rally, the Mayor condemned the act against the Holy Quran and viewed it as part of a series of hostilities by adversaries against the Islamic nation and its sanctities.
Abbad called on the Islamic nation to take serious action, boycott those behind these insults, and confront the criminal Zionists and Americans. He urged for widespread demonstrations against the repeated insults to Islamic sanctities. The rally's statement, delivered by Dr. Fouad Naji, condemned the repeated insults by the enemies of God, calling for campaigns to boycott American and Israeli goods and to hold demonstrations in support of the Holy Quran and Al Aqsa Mosque.
The statement highlighted the hostility and fear that the Quran evokes in its adversaries due to its potential to build a strong nation. It praised Hezbollah's stances and affirmed Iran's right to respond to attacks by America and Israel.
The rally concluded with a call to participate in summer activities and support events, and it was attended by officials from various sectors and a large crowd from the Al Tahrir district.
