Sanaa: The National Committee for the Prohibition of Chemical, Biological and Toxic Weapons convened today under the leadership of Abdulwahid Abu Ras, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and head of the national committee. Abu Ras highlighted the impact of the ongoing national circumstances on the committee’s functioning and emphasized the need to enhance its role due to its critical responsibilities.
According to Yemen News Agency, Colonel Abdulkarim Al Kahali, the deputy head of the committee and national coordinator, provided a brief overview of the committee’s current situation from various perspectives. The meeting also reviewed the draft annual plan for the committee and its technical secretariat for the year 1448 AH.
The attendees agreed on forming a subcommittee tasked with completing the preparation of implementing regulations for Law No. 15 of 2014. Committee members proposed several initiatives aimed at strengthening the committee’s function in the upcoming phase.
