Sana'a: The summer program activities for the year 1447 AH were concluded in Ibb governorate with a public ceremony and a large scout parade, organized by the provincial subcommittee for summer programs and mobilization under the slogan 'Knowledge and Jihad.'
According to Yemen News Agency, the event, held at the Great Prophet Square, featured a scout parade by students from various districts, showcasing their organizational skills, discipline, and the knowledge and abilities gained during the programs. The students also demonstrated responsibility, national and religious awareness, and a strong sense of belonging.
Participants chanted slogans condemning Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and reaffirmed their steadfast support for the Holy Quran and Al-Aqsa Mosque, rejecting all forms of insults to Islamic sanctities and attacks on the identity of the Muslim nation.
During the ceremony, Ibb Governor Abdulwahid Salah highlighted that the success of this year's summer programs reflects the community's awareness of the importance of raising a generation equipped with knowledge, values, and religious identity, capable of confronting challenges and conspiracies targeting the nation and its youth.
He added that the high participation and engagement with the summer schools demonstrates growing public confidence in their role in educating youth and preparing them to resist cultural and ideological threats. Governor Salah praised the summer school organizers, teachers, educational committees, and local authorities for their efforts in ensuring the success of the activities.
The governor emphasized that summer programs are a fundamental pillar for building awareness and nurturing scientific, cultural, and practical skills, preparing a generation grounded in Islamic values and identity.
The event was attended by MP Dr. Ali Al-Zanam, Deputy Governor Abdulwahid Al-Marwi, and Provincial Mobilization Official Abdul Fattah Ghalab. Yahya Al-Shahari, Ministry of Education representative, described the programs as vital for instilling Quranic values and connecting youth with the Qur'an and the nation's causes.
Mohammed Al-Ghazali, provincial education sector official, noted that 164,000 students participated this year across 1,250 schools, including five residential schools, benefiting from educational, cultural, sports, and developmental programs.
The summer programs also helped identify student talents, develop skills, and strengthen teamwork, discipline, and initiative, positively shaping student character and awareness.
In their speech, students expressed pride in the programs, noting that the summer activities enhanced their scientific, cultural, and practical abilities while reinforcing their sense of belonging, awareness, and responsibility.
The ceremony included cultural performances, Qur'an recitations, and a report highlighting the achievements and programs of the summer schools for the year 1447 AH.
