Hajjah: A meeting in Hajjah discussed updating and correcting records of endowment (waqf) lands used by the education sector. The meeting reviewed the status of waqf lands occupied by educational facilities and stressed stronger coordination between the education sector and the Endowments Office to verify projects built on waqf lands, review previous contracts, and update records based on field inspections.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants emphasized that the process is essential to safeguard waqf property rights, prevent encroachment, and preserve the lands for future generations. The meeting also agreed to establish subcommittees in the district directorates to carry out the data correction process.
