Meeting in Ibb Reviews Strategic Plans and Honors Top Districts

Ibb: A meeting was held in Ibb Governorate, chaired by Governor Abdul Wahid Salah, to discuss the final stages of preparing the strategic and executive plans for the governorate, as part of completing the technical procedures for their approval and adoption.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Amin Al-Worafi; Deputy Governor, Ashraf Al-Mutawakkil; Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khaled; and members of the supervisory and technical committees tasked with preparing the plans. Reports analyzing the current situation for the year 1447 AH, which covered all districts of the governorate, were reviewed. These reports included indicators and data on services, development, needs, and priorities, providing a base to help direct resources and capacities toward implementing priority projects and strengthening local development efforts.

The meeting also reviewed the tripartite participatory strategic plans for the years 1448-1450 AH and the executive plans for 1448 AH, prepared according to a scientific and participatory methodology. These plans focused on three main axes: developing local resources and improving the investment environment, upgrading basic services and developing human capacities, and protecting and ensuring the sustainability of natural resources.

Engineer Diaa Mohsen, coordinator of the development team, presented a technical overview that included the results of a comprehensive field survey of the districts and the final report of the development program implemented during the year 1447 AH. He outlined the key indicators and developmental needs that the strategic and executive plans were based on, emphasizing that these plans resulted from six months of continuous field and technical work prepared with precise indicators and a clear timeline.

The meeting stressed the importance of unifying official and community efforts to ensure the successful implementation of the plans and enhancing coordination among all relevant parties to achieve sustainable development in line with the guidelines of the Ministry of Administration and Local and Rural Development.

Governor Abdul Wahid Salah affirmed that preparing the strategic and executive plans represents a step toward institutionalizing a scientific planning methodology based on data and realistic indicators, enhancing institutional performance efficiency. He pointed out that the upcoming phase requires concerted efforts from local authorities, executive offices, and community initiatives to ensure effective implementation of the plans' contents and adherence to performance indicators and timelines, transforming these plans into tangible projects and programs.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the districts of Baddan, Al-Qafr, and Jeblah were honored for their excellence in preparing development reports and strategic and executive plans, and for their active contributions to the success of the supervisory and technical committees' work.
