Sanaa: The Sana'a Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement on Monday with the National Human Rights Commission aimed at promoting human rights principles within the business and industrial sector, strengthening corporate social responsibility, and supporting economic and social development.
According to Yemen News Agency, the agreement was signed by National Human Rights Commission Chairman Ali Taysir and Sana'a Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice Chairman Mohammed Salah. The agreement establishes a framework for joint cooperation to promote a culture of human rights in commercial and economic activities, encourage responsible business practices, and protect the rights of workers, consumers, and other stakeholders in accordance with applicable laws and the Chamber's mandate.
It also seeks to strengthen trust between the private sector and relevant institutions while contributing to a more favorable business and investment environment. Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in organizing training programs, workshops, and awareness seminars, preparing joint studies and reports, exchanging expertise and information, supporting corporate social responsibility initiatives, and providing legal and human rights consultations to Chamber members in coordination with the Chamber's Legal Department.
The agreement also calls for utilizing the Chamber's economic and development expertise in implementing joint initiatives and programs. It forms part of broader efforts to strengthen cooperation between national institutions and the private sector in support of sustainable development and to foster a stable business environment based on respect for fundamental rights and freedoms.
