Meeting in Sana’a Discusses Livestock Activities and Cash Support Mechanisms

Sana'a: A meeting held on Wednesday in Sana'a discussed livestock sector activities and programs that the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has converted into cash assistance, as well as mechanisms for implementing them on the ground. This comes within the framework of strengthening joint coordination between government entities and international partners in the agricultural sector.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Ambassador Ismail Al-Mutawakel, member of the technical committee at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Alaa Al-Amisi, Director General of Agricultural Statistics Engineer Mutahhar Zaid, and Food Security Cluster Coordinator Musaad Nasser. The discussions addressed the criteria and mechanisms for selecting beneficiaries to ensure that support reaches the most vulnerable groups, achieves fairness and transparency in distribution, enhances food security, and improves the livelihoods of farmers and livestock breeders.

Participants stressed the importance of continuing coordination and information exchange to enhance the efficiency of agricultural programs and achieve tangible impact for beneficiaries.
