Inauguration of New Training and Rehabilitation Projects at Hodeidah Central Reformatory

Hodeidah: The Head of the Rehabilitation and Reform Authority at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Major General Ismail Al-Muayyad, along with the First Deputy Governor of Hodeidah, Ahmed Al-Bishri, inaugurated several training and rehabilitation projects at the Central Reformatory in the governorate today. The initiative aims to enhance the rehabilitation and reform programs for inmates.

According to Yemen News Agency, the newly launched projects include sewing, tailoring, and computer departments, along with classrooms. The commencement of work in carpentry, aluminum, and blacksmithing workshops marks a significant step towards equipping inmates with essential crafts and professional skills. These initiatives are expected to improve the living conditions of inmates within the reformatory and enable them to support their families.

During the inauguration, which was attended by prominent figures such as the Head of the Appeals Division at the Specialized Criminal Court, Judge Muhammad Jahaf, and the Head of the Public Prosecution in the governorate, Judge Amin Al-Qarni, Major General Al-Muayyad emphasized the Authority's commitment to developing rehabilitation programs. These programs are designed to achieve legal and humanitarian goals by enhancing inmates' opportunities for positive integration into society post-sentence.

The Head of the Authority highlighted that the establishment of these centers and departments aligns with the directives of the Revolution Leader, political leadership, and the government. The focus is on providing attention to inmates' housing, educational, training, and cultural needs, thus contributing to comprehensive rehabilitation.

Local leaders, heads of prosecution offices, and the security director present at the event commended the Rehabilitation and Reform Authority's efforts in establishing and equipping these facilities. They acknowledged the projects as a qualitative step towards building inmates' academic and professional capabilities, preparing them to become active and productive members of society upon release. The Authority's provision of advanced care and training programs is seen as a significant enhancement of reform and positive change opportunities.
