Hajjah: The Public Prosecution in Hajjah Governorate approved the release of 135 prisoners from the Central Reformatory and remand prisons in the districts, in implementation of the Attorney General's directives on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Head of the Appeals Prosecution in the governorate, Judge Abdullah Al-Ahmar, explained that the decisions came following a field inspection of the Central Reformatory last Sunday. The inspection involved deputies from the criminal, investigative, and primary prosecution offices, during which cases eligible for pardon of the remaining sentence period were reviewed.

He clarified that the procedures included discussing the lists of prisoners submitted by the prosecution deputies stationed at the Reformatory and remand prisons in the districts, and verifying their eligibility for conditional release.

Judge Al-Ahmar pointed out that these decisions complement previous releases which included 194 prisoners, bringing the total number to 329 prisoners who qualified for a pardon of the remaining sentence period on the occasion of the holy month.

He noted that those released are individuals who have served three-quarters of their sentence for serious crimes and half their sentence for non-serious crimes, have no outstanding private rights claims, and have demonstrated good conduct and behavior, in addition to release on guarantees in cases under investigation.
