Meeting in Sana’a Discusses Media’s Role in Promoting Boycott of U.S. Goods, Supporting Local Products


Sana’a: A joint meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment, chaired by Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar al-Bukhaiti, to discuss cooperation between the Ministries of Economy and Information in raising awareness about the boycott of American and Israeli enemy goods, and supporting local products, home-based producers, and small and micro-enterprises.



According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. al-Bukhaiti affirmed the Ministry of Information’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment to enhance public awareness regarding the boycott of American products. This cooperation aims to support economic and developmental plans aligned with national strategies.



He praised the initiative of the Ministry of Economy to build communication channels with the Ministry of Information and establish a joint mechanism to promote the boycott campaign, support local production, and implement economic development plans in line with government programs and objectives that serve the public interest.



The meeting highlighted the role of media in raising public awareness about the importance of the boycott and in correcting consumer behavior to benefit the national economy and protect consumers.



Participants stressed the need for a comprehensive media plan that promotes the boycott as a long-term behavior and encourages consumers to prioritize local products.



It was agreed to form a joint working group tasked with preparing an integrated media strategy focused on raising awareness about the boycott and boosting support for local production.
