Meeting of Student Activities Directors Unveils 1448 AH Academic Year Plan in Sana’a

Sana'a: The Higher Education Sector at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with the Modern Technology College of the Orphan Development Foundation, convened the annual expanded meeting of student activities directors from public and private universities and community colleges. The focus was to discuss and ratify the student activities plan and schedule for the 1448 AH academic year.

According to Yemen News Agency, the gathering included leaders from the Higher Education Sector and student activities directors. The agenda was to review the significant achievements of student activities during the 1447 AH academic year, approve the forthcoming plan for the 1448 AH academic year, and stress the adherence to graduation ceremony guidelines.

Abdul Karim Al-Dahhak, the Director of Activities in the Higher Education Sector, highlighted the meeting's aim to update university and college directors on the planned student activities for the current academic year, 1448 AH. Al-Dahhak emphasized the Ministry's commitment to activating the role of educational institutions in achieving their goals and contributing to students' holistic development, including spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and social growth.

The student activities plan for the academic year 1448 AH proposes approximately 43 activities across various fields, such as religious, cultural, sports, scientific, social, and developmental. The General Directorate of Activities previously executed 35 activities in the 1447 AH academic year, with support from Yemeni universities and colleges.

Abdul Rahman Al-Mahfadi, responsible for cultural activities in the Higher Education Sector, provided guidelines on the importance of student activities in reinforcing faith-based identity, national loyalty, and moral values. He stressed the need for these activities to align with Yemeni values and traditions, while also protecting youth from external cultural influences.

Dr. Khaled Al-Masajdi, Dean of the College of Modern Technology, and Suhail Al-Sanani, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, underscored the importance of student activities in character building and skill development. They reiterated the government's focus on investing in human capital as a driver for development and prosperity. The college offers various educational programs and scholarships for orphans to meet labor market demands.

The meeting concluded with honoring the universities and colleges that supported and ensured the success of the 1447 AH plan, as well as those involved in preparing the 1448 AH plan.
