Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered rainfall in mountainous and coastal areas, alongside hot to extremely hot conditions in coastal and desert regions during the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that conditions over the western mountainous highlands are expected to be clear to partly cloudy during the morning. These conditions may gradually become cloudy in the afternoon and evening, with scattered rain showers and occasional thunderstorms forecast in some areas.
The bulletin also highlights the possibility of mist or fog forming over parts of the mountainous regions during the evening hours, with generally clear conditions returning overnight and in the early morning.
Along the southern coasts, weather conditions are expected to be partly cloudy, hot, humid, and dusty in some locations. Light rainfall is possible in parts of the eastern coastline and sections of the Tihama Plain.
Strong winds are also expected over the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern Gulf of Aden, with wind speeds ranging between 34 and 38 knots.
In desert areas, forecasters expect dry and very hot conditions, with maximum temperatures ranging from 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. Moderate winds are expected, occasionally becoming strong enough to raise dust and sand.
The center has issued a warning to residents in inland plateau regions, coastal areas, deserts, and plains about the effects of high and extremely high temperatures. It advised people to drink plenty of fluids and avoid direct exposure to sunlight between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
