South korea: Government offices and cultural institutions in the Ibb governorate organized a speech event on Sunday to commemorate al-Wilayah Day and the anniversary of the passing of religious scholar Badr al-Din bin Amir al-Din al-Houthi.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was organized by the Finance and Tax Offices, the Culture Sector, and executive units responsible for qat sales taxes and real estate revenues in the governorate. During the event, Ibb undersecretary Qasim Al-Masawa emphasized the importance of commemorating religious and cultural occasions as opportunities to promote awareness and reinforce values and principles associated with religious identity.
Al-Masawa highlighted that the commemoration of al-Wilayah Day serves as a reflection on values linked to unity, cohesion, and adherence to religious teachings. He also stressed the significance of remembering Badr al-Din al-Houthi's scholarly and religious contributions, noting his role in religious education and intellectual discourse. Al-Masawa pointed out that such occasions provide a platform to discuss themes related to identity, independence, and societal awareness, as well as the challenges facing communities.
Finance Office Director Saleh Al-Rassas addressed the gathering, describing the event of Ghadir in Islamic history as a significant occasion and discussing its importance from a religious perspective. He encouraged public employees to draw lessons from values like responsibility, dedication to public service, and institutional development. Al-Rassas also highlighted Badr al-Din al-Houthi's scholarly and intellectual contributions, particularly in religious education and cultural awareness.
Additionally, Tax Office Director Muin Al-Shulaif stated that the occasion represented an opportunity to reinforce religious values and social solidarity. He spoke of Badr al-Din al-Houthi as an influential religious figure whose efforts focused on promoting Quranic studies and religious awareness.
Speakers at the event underscored themes of perseverance, community cohesion, and adherence to religious principles, while encouraging continued engagement with educational and cultural initiatives.
