Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted ongoing rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that rainfall, along with thunderstorms and occasional hail, is expected in the governorates of Dhamar, Ibb, Raymah, Taiz, and Dhale'a. The forecast also includes parts of the Tihama Plain, the western coasts, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan governorates.
Scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are anticipated in parts of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Bayda, and western Sana'a, as well as parts of the eastern, southern, and western coasts and adjacent inland areas.
Yesterday, thunderstorms of varying intensity led to flash floods in valleys and ravines in the governorates of Mahwit, Hajjah, Ibb, the Tihama Plain, and the western coast. Scattered rains also fell outside the scope of meteorological stations on the western highlands, inland plateaus, and western coastal areas.
The center has issued warnings to citizens about the dangers of thunderstorms, crossing floodwaters and ground bridges, or being in them during and after rainfall. It also cautioned against soil erosion, rockfalls, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes. Citizens are advised to take the necessary precautions against thunderstorms and to avoid unstable slopes.
