Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecasted strong winds over the Socotra Archipelago, hot weather in deserts, plains, and coastal areas, and scattered rainfall in parts of the western highlands during the next 24 hours. According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center indicates that strong winds are anticipated over the Socotra Archipelago, with speeds reaching up to 40 knots.
The weather conditions are expected to be hot to very hot across the deserts, inland plateaus, plains, and coastal areas. Scattered rainfall may occur in parts of the western mountainous highlands and the Tihama Plain, adding a layer of variability to the forecast.
The center has issued warnings to sea-goers, fishermen, and ship captains in the Socotra Archipelago about rough sea conditions and high waves. Additionally, it has advised residents in these regions to prepare for the hot to very hot weather by staying hydrated and avoiding direct exposure to sunlight during peak afternoon hours.
Citizens in areas that may receive rainfall have also been cautioned about the potential risks of lightning and have been advised to avoid being in or crossing flood channels during and after periods of rainfall.
