Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning reported that unstable weather conditions continue to affect most governorates, forecasting thunderstorms during the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center predicts moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by downdraft winds and hail over parts of the governorates of Shabwah, Abyan, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Hajjah, Saada, and the Tihama Plain.
Rainfall of varying intensity, occasionally accompanied by thunder, is also likely over parts of the governorates of Hadramawt, Al-Bayda, Ma'rib, and Al-Jawf, as well as the western, southern, and eastern coasts and the corresponding inland areas.
The center warned citizens of the sudden flow of torrents in ravines and valleys and advised against being present in their pathways or attempting to cross them during and after rainfall.
It also warned of the risks of thunderstorms, hail, and strong downdraft winds, advising against being in elevated areas and near towers and tall trees, as well as against using mobile phones. It also advised disconnecting the electrical power supply during rainfall and thunderstorms.
The center further warned of rockfalls and mudslides, particularly on mountain slopes and roads, as well as the collapse of buildings and traditional mud-brick fortresses due to the continued rainfall.
It called on the relevant authorities to take appropriate precautionary measures to protect lives and property.
