Aden: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning forecasts a period of hot weather across deserts, plains, and coastal areas, coupled with strong winds likely to result in rough seas at Bab al-Mandab, the southern coasts, and around the Socotra Archipelago. Additionally, rainfall is anticipated in several governorates over the upcoming 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin highlights that the deserts and coastal plains can expect hot to very hot and dry conditions, with temperatures soaring between 38 and 45 degrees Celsius. The coastal areas are also expected to experience hot and humid weather, with temperatures ranging from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius.
The center further reports the likelihood of strong winds at Bab al-Mandab, the southern coasts, and near the Socotra Archipelago, with speeds between 20 and 30 knots and gusts reaching up to 35 knots, contributing to rough sea conditions.
Rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder, is predicted in the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, Dhamar, Raymah, and Dhale'a. Scattered showers could also occur in parts of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Mahwit, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan.
Recent rainfall measurements reported 25 mm in Ibb and 2 mm in Taiz in the past 24 hours. The center advises citizens to take precautions against the extreme heat by avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours and staying hydrated.
Warnings have also been issued to seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains about the potential for high seas and rough waves at Bab al-Mandab, the southern coast, and around the Socotra Archipelago. Additionally, the center advises caution against thunderstorms and avoiding floodwaters during and after rainfall events.
