Brussels: The President of Ibb University, Dr. Nasr Al Hajili, met today with a ministerial committee to evaluate the artificial intelligence and cybersecurity programs at the Faculty of Computing and Applied Sciences, as well as the interior design program at the Faculty of Engineering. The committee's visit is part of the process to achieve accreditation for new academic programs, adhering to quality and academic accreditation standards.
According to Yemen News Agency, the committee comprised Dr. Hussein Al Hanash, Dr. Samir Al Sari, Dr. Ahmed Al Shalabi, Dr. Abdulwase Al Azani, and Mohammed Al Zahra. Their task was to assess the infrastructure, equipment, and laboratories supporting the new programs at the university. Present at the evaluation were the university's Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Abu Lohoum; University Secretary, Abdul Malik Al Saqqaf; Deans Dr. Mohammed Al Qawas, Dr. Munir Al Saruri, and Dr. Farhan Nashwan; and University Registrar, Abdul Salam Karsh.
The committee examined the academic plans and course descriptions, ensuring they meet quality standards and align with modern scientific and technical advancements. During a tour of the facilities, the committee praised the university for its technical and laboratory resources, the competence of its academic staff, and its preparatory work for the new programs.
University President Dr. Al Hajili emphasized that the introduction of programs in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and interior design is part of Ibb University's strategy to enhance academic education. This initiative aims to keep up with scientific and technological progress and to prepare students for community service and development roles. Dr. Al Hajili highlighted the university's commitment to providing an integrated educational environment, complete with modern infrastructure, specialized laboratories, and qualified faculty.
He further noted that Ibb University is rapidly expanding its specialized programs and modern disciplines, in line with its vision to strengthen its academic and research stature, thus equipping society with skilled professionals in the technical, medical, and engineering sectors. The committee also evaluated the performance and infrastructure of the Faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences and Dentistry, noting advancements in technical and laboratory facilities.
