Sanaa: The Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shiban, and the Head of the Customs Authority, Engineer Adel Margham, have inaugurated a new computer lab at Gamal Abdul Nasser High School for Outstanding Students. The lab, equipped with 40 computers, was provided by the Customs Authority.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister of Education Al-Saadi highlighted the significance of the computer lab as a crucial development for the school, which has consistently produced a large number of top high school graduates. He stated the need for continued support for schools that nurture outstanding students from all Yemeni regions and called on both government and private sectors to contribute to such efforts.
The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries, including Dhamar Governor Mohammed Al-Bukaiti and Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, alongside several businessmen. Engineer Margham, Head of the Customs Authority, noted that this initiative is part of the Authority's social responsibility program, which has previously supported various educational and community projects.
Engineer Margham emphasized the role of education in driving economic and social progress and urged more entities to recognize and support educational initiatives. He also mentioned other community programs by the Authority in health and social sectors.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Qasimi, Principal of the high school, expressed appreciation for the Customs Authority's support. He explained that the lab will benefit 700 students and staff, offering them access to essential software and tools, including those related to artificial intelligence. He called for more support from both public and private sectors to follow the Authority's example.
Students from the school expressed their gratitude for the new computer lab, acknowledging its role in enhancing their educational experience and allowing them to apply their knowledge practically.
