Ministry of Agriculture Finalizes Preparations for Scientific Conference on Medicinal Honey in Sana’a

Sana'a: An expanded meeting in Sana'a today, chaired by the Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Engineer Ammar Al-Karim, discussed the final arrangements for holding the scientific conference on medicinal honey in Yemen. The meeting included the preparatory committee for the conference, with attendees such as the Deputy Minister for the Plant Wealth Sector, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Siraji; the head of the Agricultural Research Authority, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alfi; and the head of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, Mubarak Al-Qaili. They reviewed the level of technical and organizational readiness, and the steps taken to ensure the conference is held in a manner befitting its scientific and economic importance.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Minister blessed the holding of the conference, affirming the ministry's readiness to provide various forms of academic and organizational support to ensure the success of this scientific event. The conference aims to highlight the status of Yemeni honey and enhance its role in supporting the national economy. The Minister urged the concerted efforts of all committees and participating parties, emphasizing the completion of logistical and technical preparations to ensure the conference produces practical recommendations that serve and develop the medicinal honey production sector.

The Secretary-General of the conference, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Alfi, reviewed the strategic importance of the conference and the added value it will provide, given the participation of an elite group of academics and researchers, alongside the support of official sponsors. Meanwhile, the head of the scientific committee, Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, discussed the completed research preparations and the progress in meeting the conditions for scientific participation and research papers.

Dr. Moin Al-Mutawakkil, head of the organizational committee, explained that coordination has been made with Sana'a University as the academic sponsor of the conference, and further coordination with other universities will be completed in the coming period. He also presented a mechanism for distributing tasks among the working committees to ensure smooth implementation according to specified standards.

This conference is part of the scientific movement witnessed by the Ministry of Agriculture, aiming to enhance partnerships between academic institutions and productive sectors. It seeks to highlight the therapeutic value of Yemeni honey and open new horizons for scientific research in medical and agricultural fields. The meeting was attended by a number of academics, researchers, specialists, and heads of the preparatory committees for the conference.
