Sana'a: The leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources today honored expert and researcher Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Yajouri with the Ministry's shield, in appreciation of his efforts and personal initiatives in preserving local and indigenous plant genetic resources.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the honoring ceremony, the Undersecretary of the Plant Wealth Sector at the Ministry, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Saraji, praised the role undertaken by Dr. Al-Yajouri in protecting the genetic diversity of Yemeni agricultural crops, and his interest in preserving local medicinal and aromatic plants. He emphasized the significance of the honor in affirming that Yemen possesses cadres capable of excellence and creativity, noting the contribution of researcher Dr. Al-Yajouri in preserving local plant genetic resources and protecting them from the risk of extinction, as they represent a national treasure for future generations.
Undersecretary Al-Saraji urged supporting researchers and adopting national initiatives that contribute to developing the agricultural sector and sustaining its resources. Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Yajouri expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Plant Wealth Sector for the honor, which represents an incentive to continue work and research in the field of preserving the genetic resources of local plants and crops.
