Sana'a: The Administrative Body of the Sana'a Governorate Local Council convened a meeting today under the leadership of Governor Abdul Basit Al-Hadi to discuss strategies for enhancing performance related to the execution of several developmental projects within the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants in the meeting included the Secretary-General of the Governorate Local Council, Abdul Qader Al-Jilani, alongside members Abdul Salam Al-Ja'ifi, Mahyoub Mahdi, and Ali Al-Suhaili. The Governor's deputies Fares Al-Kahali, Engineer Saleh Al-Muntasir, and Mohammed Al-Habbari were also in attendance. They collectively reviewed proposals and requests from various offices concerning the implementation and completion of numerous service projects.
The meeting evaluated a request from the Planning Office and the representative of the Irrigation Sector at the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the progress of the Hababid Dam rehabilitation project in Khawlan District. Additionally, a request from the Governorate's Health and Environment Office was discussed, focusing on procedures for acquiring a digital X-ray for Bani Mansour Hospital in Haymah Al-Kharijiyyah District.
A report from the General Administration for Financial Resource Development was presented, detailing the revenue levels from licenses for drilling artesian wells and random drilling activities within the governorate's districts in 2025 compared to 2024.
The council approved the Executive Unit for Projects' request to procure a sweeper for dust cleaning during asphalt maintenance, as well as the Public Works Department's request to purchase a loader for the Hamdan District Public Works branch.
Further discussions included approving additional work for the stone paving project at Bayt Yaris - Bayt Al-Raimi, Al-Ahsub sub-district, Haymah Al-Dakhiliyyah District. Technical studies and cost assessments were reviewed for projects to restore and maintain potholes on 50th Street and pave a street in New Sana'a District.
The meeting also addressed preparations to mitigate flood damage during the upcoming rainy season, emphasizing the establishment of a special emergency department under the Governorate's Public Works Sector. Emphasis was placed on equipment inventory and preparation at the district level.
Governor Al-Hadi underscored the importance of collaborative efforts to elevate development levels in the governorate, aiming to reduce community suffering and establish solid infrastructure across various sectors.
