Sana'a: A meeting chaired by the Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Sam Al-Bashiri, alongside the President of Sana'a University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhayti, focused on discussing cooperation and enhancing partnerships between the ministry, its affiliated bodies, the university, and its research centers.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting also saw participation from the Vice President of the University for Scientific and Research Centers Affairs, Dr. Zaid Al-Wareth, and the Executive Director of the Yemeni Organization for Standards, Metrology, and Quality Control, Abdullah Al-Atifi. The agenda included formulating a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing partnerships in localizing industries, developing studies and research to advance local industries, expanding production processes, and finding solutions to obstacles in the country's economic sectors.
During the session, the Acting Minister of Economy emphasized the significance of leveraging the expertise of Sana'a University's practical cadres and research centers to aid the country's economic advancement plans. He highlighted the need to harness practical competencies to create a resilient national economy capable of adapting to challenges and changes.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhayti, President of Sana'a University, expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Economy and Industry's commitment to collaborating with the university. He emphasized the importance of integrating research centers, government institutions, and the private sector to utilize scientific research for economic advancement and development.
The meeting concluded with the decision to establish a joint working team from the ministry and university to draft a cooperation agreement. Attendees included Dr. Adel Rawaa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Mohammed Hamid al-Din, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Taha Al-Washli, Director of the Water and Environment Center; and Dr. Fouad Al-Mahutori, Director of the Science and Technology Center.
Additionally, the Acting Minister of Economy visited several laboratories and research centers at Sana'a University, gaining insights from the University President and specialists about their operations. He commended the university's focus on scientific research aimed at resolving challenges faced by various government sectors.
