Sana'a: The Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water organized an introductory seminar focusing on the standard document for private sector involvement in electricity and energy projects under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) system.
According to Yemen News Agency, the seminar aimed to introduce modern trends in electricity law and energy market liberalization. It sought to clarify the role of the private sector and participation through the BOT system. The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of the system and its nature as a financing and investment contract. Additionally, it explained the contracting mechanism in electricity generation projects and emphasized that the Electricity Law, rather than the Tenders Law, serves as the legal framework for the BOT system in electricity projects.
